Each month explore a fascinating true story, followed by an extended learning activity. Kids don’t need to read the book in advance. Caregivers aren’t required to stay in the room for this program. This month's book is "History of Football."

No time to attend an evening or weekend program? Try our Snacks & Facts series. We’ll have a speaker the first Friday of each month (except December and July). Come ready to learn, and we’ll provide the snacks!

Pick up an activity pack that includes book suggestions and an early learning activity to complete at home! Available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.

For kids 2-5 years old with adult supervision.

Come and make a craft that is suitable for everyone! We will all start with the same supplies and idea, but everyone’s creations will be unique. This month we will be making Wicked wands.

For all ages.

Registration is not required.

Carry your creativity with you. Design a beautiful watercolor-style tote bag using special fabric paints and simple techniques. No art experience needed, just bring your imagination.

Put on your PJs and come to the Library for around 25 minutes of interactive bedtime songs, stories, and fun.

The Waukee Public Library Board is governed by a seven-member Board of Trustees. The trustees are appointed by the Mayor for a three-year term, limited to two consecutive terms. Residency in Waukee city limits is required for appointment.

Make a simple craft after 25-30 minutes of stories, songs, and rhymes. This is generally for kids who can sit still for longer stories to develop school readiness. 

For kids 3.5-5 years old and their caregivers.

For kids 18 mo.-3 years old and their caregivers. 

We’re taking more photos than ever. With just a tap, we capture memories, moments, and everything in between. But what happens next? Too often, those photos stay trapped on our phones or hard drives, never getting the spotlight they deserve.

Give old pages new life! In this hands-on workshop, we’ll transform recycled book pages into beautiful paper wreaths. 

For adults ages 18+.

Bring your friends and family and join us to listen and learn about world cultures!  A different cultural ambassador will present each month. Cookies will be served.
